Made for a woman is a brand based in Madagascar that seeks to give better lives to the women with traditional artisanal expertise by paying them the appropriate wages they deserve to receive for their hard work.
Lemlem is based in Ethiopia and was founded by model Liya Kedebe who encountered a group of traditional weavers who didn't have a market for their craft anymore. She decided to launch the business in order to give these expert weavers the opportunity to sell their unique pieces, along with the Lemlem foundation, giving African women access to healthcare, education and employment.
Based in New Zealand, Recreate Clothing produces its products in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The women behind the production were originally from slums, given a chance to gain stable employment, empowering them to provide for theirselves, and their families.
Equal Hands was founded by Monica Phromsavanh, a Lao-born woman who had to provide for herself and her father growing up in an Argentinian refugee camp. On a trip to Laos in 2018, she was inspired to help the women and children all over the world struggling to make ends meet. Proceeds from the brand go to charities, giving people the chance to make an impact and help others.
Fahafahana is a brand based in Madagascar creating unique pieces using traditional Malagasy crafting methods. The brand employs female artisans and gives them the opportunity to live a normal life by being paid the right amount for their impressively hard work.
